HOW WE STARTED

The idea for this website began when I attended a meeting of people from all backgrounds who were interested in taking a stand against climate change, global warming, and other related threats to the planet.  I found it so interesting how these people had few things in common other than their desire to help their planet and that they were all experts in their fields, though those ranged from environmental policy in the case of politicians to teaching about geography in the case of professors.  As a college student, it was an incredible opportunity to hear from such knowledgable people as well as contribute to the conversation.  While all these individuals already strive to support the environment, not everyone possesses the same mindset.  I personally believe one reason people lack understanding of the urgency of climate change is that they do not see its effects in their daily lives or do not realize that certain weather events are the result of climate change.  Therefore, this website provides and outlet for people to share their stories of the small steps they are taking to make a big impact on the environment, in hopes of showing others what they can do and inspiring people to make a difference on their own.
