A Trip to the River

This past weekend I spent a couple hours cleaning up litter in and around the James River, in Richmond, VA. The trip was through GreenUR, an environmental club I am part of at my school (University of Richmond). It was great to spend time making a difference with so many people who cared just as much. We collected over 20 bags of trash, including items ranging from plastic and bottles to clothes to abandoned fishing equipment. Even though Richmond is located at least 2 hours from the Atlantic Ocean, it is important to keep all waterways clean in order to prevent additional trash from entering our oceans.
